“Accreditation” means the EASA process of qualifying NAA or QE to conduct certain EASA certification tasks on its behalf.
The objective of the accreditation of NAAs and QEs by the Agency is to ensure that organisations carrying out certification tasks on behalf of the Agency have the necessary capabilities, management systems and expertise to execute the allocated certification tasks in accordance with the applicable certification procedures and legal requirements.
The accreditation activity is a support activity to EASA product certification and organisation approvals activities. The Accreditation Section is part of the Standardisation Department within the Approvals and Standardisation Directorate.
The accreditation activity is conducted in accordance with the criteria established by the EASA Management Board Decision No. 01/2011 on guidelines for the allocation of certification tasks to National Aviation Authorities and Qualified Entities, adopted on 15th March 2011, and in particular Section 2 thereof. The Scope of Accreditation of the National Aviation Authorities and Qualified Entities is published in the specific List of Accredited Entities (ACCR.L001).
