Two Special Conditions and one Equivalent Safety Finding; Issoire Aviation CS VLA APM30 LION - CS VLA
The certification of the Issoire APM-30 has raised three issues that were subject of consultations:
Third Seat in CS-VLA (Special Condition)
Operation at night VFR (Special Condition)
Emergency Exits (Equivalent Safety Finding)
Items 1 and 2 have already been subject to the consultation process (below), but are included here for completeness and because some of the responses to Item 3 refer back to earlier responses. Item 3 is posted for the first time.
Special Condition for Night VFR operation for a VLA
CS-VLA specifies approval for day VFR flight only. Extension to cover Night VFR was requested some years ago, and is currently planned as a task within the EASA Rulemaking programme (ref. task VLA.001). The text of this SC is taken from the planned Notice of Proposed Amendment. Comment Response Document CRD 2006-003
A comment/response document is also included to show the justifications for the SC. This SC may be used for future such applications and may be adopted, in due course, into the EASA rulemaking programme.
Special Condition for Third Seat for a VLA (Issoir Aviation - APM30)
CS-VLA specifies a maximum of two seats. This CRI proposes a Special Condition which allows three seats, but without exceeding the maximum weight or stalling speed specified in CS-VLA.
